With the rise of COVID-19 within the Knoxville area as well as our panelist traveling into Knoxville front impacted areas, it is with much regret, that have decided to postpone the event that is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th. We will be rescheduling this event in the near future.

Moderator: Jamie Miller, Former Past President
Jamie Miller most recently served as Director of Program Planning for HGTV where she and her team managed an inventory of more than 40,000 hours of linear assets and scheduled thousands of hours of programming. Following Discovery Communications’ purchase of Scripps Networks Interactive in March 2018, Miller has been involved in multiple system transitions and the migration of 24 years’ worth of schedule and content information.
Part of the original pre-launch team at HGTV, Miller is a recipient of the E.W. Scripps’ President’s Club Award, has served as a mentor in Scripps Network’s and Discovery’s mentoring programs and completed Discovery’s Leadership Essentials program.
An active member of WICT Southeast since 2007, Miller recently completed seven years on the Southeast Board of Directors, serving as President in 2018. She’s been a mentor with the WICT Southeast student program, as well as in the chapter’s peer mentoring program.
Panelist: Anne Loescher, Former Past President
Anne Loescher is the Senior Director of Strategy & Planning for Creative Services at Katz Networks, part of the E.W. Scripps Company. In this role, she oversees the promotion strategy for Bounce, Court TV, Court TV Mystery, Grit, and Laff. Before being promoted to her current position, Loescher served as Director of Standards & Practices and was instrumental in developing the company’s guidelines for original and acquired programming, as well as commercials and digital content. Previously, Loescher held positions in Creative Services and Operations at Turner. She started her career at local affiliates WLFL and WRDC in Raleigh, NC.
Loescher has been an active member of WICT since 2013. She served on the Southeast chapter board of directors for five years, including a term as chapter president in 2017. She is a graduate of the Rising Leaders Program and a past recipient of the June Travis Fellowship. Additionally, she serves on the Industry and Education Advisory Council for the CINEMA (Careers in New Emerging Media Areas) Project, a workforce development program that trains underserved youth for careers in the television, film, and gaming industries.
Panelist: Michelle Pluskota
Michelle Pluskota is the Vice President of Business Services, responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive growth and business results for Comcast Business in the Big South Region. Pluskota brings more than 18 years of experience, successfully leading teams in both the SMB and Enterprise space. She previously served as Vice President of Business Services in Comcast’s Heartland Region, where she led an organization of more than 200 employees across their three-state footprint. Under her leadership, the organization routinely exceeded performance objectives for growing customer relationships and sales productivity. She earned two President’s Club honors at Comcast, the highest performance award within the organization. Pluskota has been celebrated by industry and media organizations. In 2012, she was named to the prestigious list of Women in Cable Leaders to Watch, and was recently named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’ Top 100 Most Influential Women.
Panelist: Jill Porubovic
Jill Porubovic is SVP, Technical Workforce at Discovery, Inc. Porubovic’s team is comprised of roughly 300 people in 30 countries and supports all internal resource needs including customer service, hardware, procurement, asset management, unified
communications/messaging, desktop engineering, AV/events, telephony, M&A activities,
QA, and IT facilities enablement.
For over 11 years, Porubovic has been at Discovery in various IT leadership roles. Prior to Discovery, she spent 15+ years supporting IT product management and implementation in the telephony industry during the advent of cellphones and VOIP services. She’s been through countless corporate mergers and acquisitions as well as bankruptcy which have taught her to be resilient, innovative, risk tolerant, and to never give up or settle.
Porubovic is dedicated to a diverse and philanthropic workforce always challenging her team to pilot new ideas. The team has won various awards for their innovative thinking and support of a diverse workforce.
