Announcing The WICT Network: Southeast 2025 Chapter Awards
We would like to take a moment to recognize two outstanding members of our board who carried their leadership from 2025 into 2026! Each year, our board recognizes two standouts from the prior year who went above and beyond, either in their role on the board or as a volunteer for the chapter. For 2025, our The WICT Network: Southeast Chapter Volunteer of the year was Karla Richardson, and our Chapter Leader of the year was Valerie Carrillo. Join us in celebrating these two amazing ladies, who both continue to leave their mark on our board’s membership team!

2025 Chapter Leader of the Year
Valerie Carrillo
In 2025, Valerie was an essential part of bridging the gap members in Tennessee tend to feel with most in-person events being held in Atlanta. She organized two mixer events – one in Nashville and one in Knoxville – coordinating with senior leadership to ensure both events were a success. She single-handedly planned, oversaw, and helped promote the events, working as an active partner with the MarCom team to help create and distribute marketing materials.
Valerie currently serves as the 2026 Sr. Director of Membership and continues to be a huge asset to our board!

2025 Chapter Volunteer of the Year
Karla Richardson
Shortly after moving to Nashville, Karla joined the chapter to build connections and establish a new network in her community. Last July, she collaborated with the 2025 Director of Outreach to relaunch our brand in the Nashville area by planning a Networking Mix & Mingle event. She brought local leaders together to learn about the chapter’s goals and initiatives while gathering their input on the types of programs and events they would like to see.
Karla now serves on our board as the 2026 Director of Membership Outreach and has been a pivotal force on our membership team!
