Marilyn Altman is Vice-President of Technical Services Contracts at CommScope (formerly ARRIS) and is responsible for service contract administration and revenue assurance. Marilyn joined ARRIS in 2000 as documentation manager and during her career has also managed the training, deployment, and Asia-Pacific technical support teams. In her current role, Marilyn oversees the negotiation of customer service level agreements (SLAs) for CommScope’s telco, cable, and programmer customers worldwide. She manages service contracts pricing and programs and collaborates across the company to assure contract revenue.
In 2012, Marilyn was chosen for the second class of the SCTE Leadership Institute at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. She was also one of the earliest graduates of Half-the-Sky, the women’s leadership program created by cable industry leader Grace Killelea.
Marilyn has been a member of WICT since 2007. She served on the WICT Southeast Board as Outreach Director 2012-14 and regularly attends the national leadership conference, as well as WICT Southeast events and executive development seminars. She has spoken on several WICT panels and served as a 2018 WICT Red Letter Awards judge.
Mentoring is a special passion for Marilyn. As a member of the ARRIS Women’s Business Network (AWBN), she leads a mentoring circle each year, and she has served as a mentor for WICT Southeast’s programs…either one-on-one or via speed mentoring…a particular favorite. In addition, she has numerous informal mentees.
Marilyn lives in Alpharetta with her husband Dan and their two daughters Samantha (21) and Kat (15). Marilyn has served on the boards of the Norcross High School Foundation for Excellence, as well as at Grace United Methodist Church. She continues to pursue singing as a member of the Johns Creek Chorale, Tapestry Women’s Ensemble, and the Johns Creek United Methodist Church chancel choir.
