I first joined The WICT Network in 2019 and, in 2020, joined The WICT Network Southeast board as Treasurer. We all know what happened during 2020. In-person events were put on hold or canceled while the world as we knew it changed dramatically. Consequently, I had the opportunity to observe, first-hand, how a group of dynamic leaders with a passion for their mission were able to pivot with cool aplomb. The WICT Network Southeast responded with a compassionate grace to the needs of their diverse membership, adapting programming to address real-time and relevant issues. As the need for virtual technology skyrocketed in 2020, in addition to Treasurer, I also had the chance to serve as Technology Assistant for our Virtual Program offerings. That’s one of the many things that I love about The WICT Network – the opportunities are boundless and ever changing. After serving as Treasurer for two years, I moved into the role of Senior Director of Programming where I served for another two years.
During my tenure with The WICT Network, I have seen an ongoing enthusiastic commitment to provide a mission-centered, relevant and diverse platform, dedicated to empowering women through education, member events, mentoring, research and connecting with others. Many times, I have reflected on the benefit that The WICT Network could have made in my younger professional life, and now I have the opportunity to lead the Southeast chapter in my passionate endeavor to ensure that women have a multitude of opportunities and offerings to grow, both professionally and personally. I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as The WICT Network Southeast Co-Vice President for 2024 and President in 2025.
I am wife to Mark, mom to three grown children, dog-mom to Piper and Lolli to my beautiful 11-month-old granddaughter, Luna. As I watch Luna explore and discover the world around her, I am filled with a fierce sense of determination to ensure that her opportunities and pathways are limitless.
