The WICT Network Southeast has expanded my world in ways I never expected. Although I’d been a member since the early 2010s, it wasn’t until a former SE Chapter President, Gimmette Delaughter, reached out and asked if I’d consider serving as Director of Social Media that everything shifted. That one moment—being invited to step into something new—opened a door to an ongoing journey of leadership, learning, and community.

 

Since then, I’ve served in several roles on the MarCom team, from Director of Website Technology to Director of Communications and now Senior Director of MarCom. Through WICT, I’ve attended galas, traveled to NYC for executive luncheons, participated in leadership conferences, and joined countless trainings and networking events I may never have pursued on my own.

 

WICT has pushed me to take chances, to stretch myself professionally, and to embrace opportunities that felt bigger than my comfort zone. It’s given me access, influence, and connections I couldn’t have imagined when I first joined, and it’s helped shape not just my career, but my confidence and voice as a leader.
