Over the last three years the evolution of this women’s moment has far exceeded its early beginnings and hashtag symbol. What started as “Empowerment Through Empathy” has grown globally and has impacted women of every background, industry, and place of employment.

Kia Painter is vice president, strategic human resources solutions, for Cox Communications. Painter is responsible for leading the company’s key talent practices including compensation, inclusion and diversity, leadership development, organization design, succession planning, and employee engagement.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Human and Organizational Development from The George Washington University and a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University.
When she is not here at Cox looking for ways to create career opportunities and experiences for our employees, she spends her time reading, shopping, and looking for new things to learn.
She is a native of Norfolk, VA and currently resides in Smyrna, GA.
Painter joined Cox in 1998 as a part time HR Assistant in Cox Hampton Roads after completing undergraduate studies. During her 20+ years with the company, she has risen through the ranks and led people functions throughout our regions and markets in the Southeast. In 2015, she moved to Atlanta to establish our employee experience, employee engagement, and organization design practices for the company.
